Before starting his ecommerce business, Eric was working in the corporate world and looking for a major life change.
His goal was simple:
Spend more time at home with his family while building something of his own.
With a background in digital marketing and website optimization, ecommerce felt like a natural path.
After working through the Drop Ship Lifestyle training, Eric built his store, reached out to suppliers, and began uploading products.
The process took about three months from start to launch.
Once everything was ready, he turned on Google Ads.
About a week later…
The first Shopify sale notification came through.
And like many ecommerce entrepreneurs, Eric quickly became addicted to that “cha-ching” sound.
In this interview, Eric shares what his early journey looked like and the strategy that helped him increase conversions.
Inside this conversation, Eric talks about:
One of Eric’s biggest breakthroughs came when he decided to add live chat and text messaging to his website.
At first, he hesitated.
He worried it would take too much time away from building the business.
But after enabling chat, something interesting happened.
Customers began reaching out with questions — and those conversations often turned into sales.
In fact, many of Eric’s high-ticket orders now begin with a quick chat or text exchange.
Those conversations not only help build trust but also lead to more positive reviews, which further improves conversions over time.
Eric’s experience highlights an important lesson for ecommerce entrepreneurs:
Sometimes the best way to increase sales isn’t another ad campaign.
It’s simply being available to talk to your customers.
